The submission of entries to Modern Cyrillic 2014 type design competition is now officially closed. Cyrillic typefaces (Text, Display, and Type Systems) created and/or released after September 15, 2009 were eligible for entering in the contest.
As of 24h00 FJT November 14, 2014 the final count of the entries received was 355 (94 Text, 241 Display, and 20 Type System), from 26 countries: Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, The Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Ukraine, USA. We thank all the entrants in the competition, and wish them the best of luck.
The jury is scheduled to convene to select the winners on Tuesday, November 25 and 26, 2014. The designers of the winning entries shall be notified of the decision of the judges by e-mail.
The public announcement of the results of the competition shall take place on Sunday, November 30 at the Serebro Nabora Conference in Moscow. All participants whose designs get selected by the jury will receive their Certificates for Excellence in Type Design by mail. Those designers of the winning entries who can attend the ceremony will be bestowed their awards in person. The results of the competition will be announced on-line, at moderncyrillic.org, in social networks (Facebook, Twitter), and trade periodicals. A catalogue of the winning entries will be published.
The organisers of this competition are ParaType and Type Journal, with additional support from the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media and Yandex.
