Linotype Maenneken™

The whimsical gentlemen who populate Linotype Männeken, a symbol font from the Linotype Library¿s Take Type 4 collection, all appear to be trying to go about their everyday activities. Unlike many symbol fonts, Linotype Männeken¿s pictograms retain a touch of their creator¿s hand in their appearance. The characters seems to have been drawn with a fine layout marker. No cold, computer-generated icons are anywhere to be found here. German designer/illustrator Martina Thiesen designed Linotype Männeken in 2002. This pictographic family displays 104 uniquely drawn figures, in two separate typefaces, Linotype Männeken and Linotype Männeken. Männeken¿s pictograms work exceptionally well when paired with Martina Thiesen¿s other symbol and text faces.
