Lazurski Vadim

Russian type and book designer, developed design for more than 300 editions. Many of them became classics of book design. Intimate knowledge of the Italian types of the Renaissance (Griffo, Tagliente) and of the Russian types of XYIII century allows him to create type Lazurski (awarded by Gold Medal at International Book Arts (IBA) exhibition at Leipzig, 1959). He was awarded by the Gutenberg Prize of Leipzig Council (1975). He carried out academic and graphical studies of the handwriting uncial of Ostromir's Evangelium (XI century) (1941), of the first printed semi-uncial of XVI century (1946) and of the type of the inscription on the Trajan Pillar (II century).
