The typeface was designed at SoftUnion in 1993-1994 by Nikita Vsesvetsky. Similar to Monotype Onyx designed by Gerry Powell. Cut by American Type Founders in 1937, by Monotype in 1955. One of many variants of the nineteenth century fat face theme. For use in advertising and display typography.
