Isabella Chaeva

Kuenstler 480

The Bitstream version of Trump Mediaeval, 1954-60, by Georg Trump, a prolific German type designer. It seems to be his best typeface. It has a vigorous oldstyle roman and italic that is the sloped roman, except for the letters a, e, f. With its crisp angularity and wedge-shapes serifs, Trump Mediaeval appears carved in stone. It is a strong text typeface that is highly legible and especially useful for low-resolution output. It is useful in display work too. Cyrillic version developed by Vladimir Yefimov and Isabella Chaeva. It keeps the main feature of Trump Mediaeval italic to be the sloped roman, except for the letters , , , , , . There are old style figures, additional ligatures and fractions available at all styles, as well as small caps at the Roman 55 and initial and finial decorative swashed characters at the Italic 56.

Danila Orlovsky

Circus Didot

Circus Didot typeface presents a rework of a typical neoclassical serif type in a constructivist style. Analyzing the shapes of characters author placed basic geometric figures triangles, rectangles, circles above the contours of letters. Resulting constructions staying recognizable letters at the same time bore a resemblance to pictures of Russian avant-garde artists from 20th century. This discovery has brought an idea to design a typeface where the tendency of a modern serif type to rationalism and geometry is realized in maximum possible extent. The prototypes for the project were taken from the works of Didot, lettering experiments of Russian constructivists and art deco artworks. The technique of juggling with shapes and overall grotesque approach to the design explains the selection of the name for the font. Designed by Danila Orlovsky.

Tagir Safayev
Dmitry Kirsanov
Gennady Fridman

Kremlin Pro

The first version of Kremlin was designed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1995 by Tagir Safayev. Based on an informal handwriting. Kremlin is a Russian word for a fortress or a citadel. The reason why the author selected this word for the font name is not quite clear even for him. Probably the appearance of the text line set in this font resembled a tight fence. Later the font was expanded in character set and got two style variations with extended proportions. The suffix "Pro" in the name was added to distinguish the new version from the previous one. The derivative work was done by Dmitry Kirsanov and Gennady Fridman in 2010. The font is recommended for advertising and display typography.

Alexandra Korolkova

The name of the font Airy is in fact a very light-minded summer font without any serious design concept. It is a collection of hand-drawn letters that with the help of OpenType features allow you to get a lace texture with mutable structure. Together with the font you also get a bonus a set of naive pictures that you normally draw on the margins of your sketchbook.

Bowman is an informal slab-serif face written by hand with a marker. Its live and playful nature makes it suitable for comic books, illustrations, informal advertising and package design. Designer Alexandra Korolkova.

Anatoly Schukin
